Spooks, too many letters, and some awesome covers. Last month’s post was well received, so here I am with five more finds for you. There’s only one book-related link this time, but I’ve already found more literary articles for next month. (I’m thinking this series may work best as a once-a-month feature, would you agree?)
The links
This 1939 novel, Gadsby, is 50,000 words in length and does not have any letter ‘E’ anywhere.
Would you buy the spookiest island in Venice?
Like Ellie Goulding? Here’s Burn, 1960s style. If you prefer Jason Derulo, you might want to give Talk Dirty in traditional klezmer style a listen, instead.
We British have some very odd phrases that we didn’t really know the history of, until now.
The winner of longest train station name goes to this one in Wales. Incidentally, it might interest you to know that Bangkok’s full name is Krungthepmahanakhon Amonrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharatratchathaniburirom Udomratchaniwetmahasathan Amonphimanawatansathit Sakkathattiyawitsanukamprasit.
What has piqued your interest on the Internet lately?

That is a long name! How neat about Gadsby being written without the letter “e”!

Blodeuedd: According to Wikipedia ‘City of angels, great city of immortals, magnificent city of the nine gems, seat of the king, city of royal palaces, home of gods incarnate, erected by Visvakarman at Indra’s behest’. :)
Belle: It’s a fun one, isn’t it. Inevitably sometimes you wonder and I thought it was time to look it up.
Literary Feline: I know! It must have taken a lot of willpower and been very frustrating. Rather him than me!
