Compton Castle Gardens, Overcast Day

Compton Castle (a fortified manor house) is what I’d term a semi National Trust property. It is only open a few days a week as it is still in use as a family home; for this reason you cannot take photographs of the interior. It is a lovely place to visit, as I hope these photographs of the garden will show, and the few rooms that are open are nice enough. Given the small amount to see, it doesn’t take long at all, so there is plenty of time to fit another outing into your day.
There’s a holiday rental property in the corner, just behind where I was standing to take that last photograph. It’s in a tower and looks perfect.
Where did you go on your most recent day out?

This is beautiful! I think I’m going to end up bookmarking all your castle posts and then make plans to visit them all.

Another place I’ve never heard of. Thank you for sharing some more lovely photographs. Sadly I haven’t visited anywhere since my holiday in France.
